The need to create additional value for the readers

One of our by far most popular Visiolink Insights has been the report “E-paper 2.0”. The reason for this fact is probably easy to understand as a struggling newspaper industry have made it clear that change is needed. And not only a change, but a rethinking of how media houses needs to reach today’s newsreaders. The ever-growing demand for digital representation has for some years established the e-paper – a 1:1 digital version of the printed newspaper, which is available on computers, tablets or smartphones. The content of the printed paper and a (standard) e-paper is, therefore, identical.

Just like the printed newspaper, the e-paper provides in-depth journalism that is payable for by consumers. However, there is a need to create additional value to the readers and thereby rethink the current e-papers.

The E-paper 2.0 report investigated this via a survey carried out in a particular region in Denmark and was presented in the Visiolink Insights report, in which potential functions for a new DYNAMIC e-paper format were examined.
